The only thing you can do is move on.
It's horrible, but it's how I'm coping with my friends' deaths from the past two years, and it seems to work just fine. He's definitely in a better place. A person's time may be unsuitable for their schedule, or anyone else's at that, but you've got to believe that there's some reason to the madness. If not, you'll only put yourself in a quiet solitude, depressed as hell.
I slowly working my way back up to normal... I've had 5 people I know personally die on me the past six months, so yeah, a little overwhelming...
But your right, it's time to move on.
